Dry Erase Paint

Dry Erase Paint

I got so excited when I heard about Dry Erase Paint . I thought excellent I can paint any wall with this stuff and I have an instant whiteboard.

So I ordered my 4 litres of Dry Erase Paint from Markee, a Ditto company. Around $150 delivered. They had a 20 sec clip on their site which had a brief overview. I bought the starter kit which included "instructional DVD" HAH!!

It was a DVD of the 20 sec clip! That should have set off alram bells but I pressed ahead anyway. I followed their "directions" and even emailed the parent company. There was no info about no. of coats, surface prep etc. Veta from Dittos got back to me saying that two coats with a light sanding in between was the way to go. Don't know why they couldn't have slapped that label on the can.

So that is what I did. I tried smaller test areas first. 48 hours after they dried I wrote on them and the marker wiped off immediately. Excellent I thought. However what I should have done was left the writing there and try to wipe it off 15 mins later. If I had of done that I would not have proceeded to Cover a 10sqm area with the stuff.

Markers do NOT erase on this paint if the writing is left there longer than 10 mins. If it is you need to use turpentine to get the stuff off!!!!!!

HARDLY DRY ERASE PAINT!

I have emailed a few times now but they do not respond. I have spent $150, wrecked three walls and lost 20 hours on their so called "dry erase paint" .

So if you know of a product that actually works please let me know. I would recommend staying away from the dittos product though unless you feel the need to waste time and MONEY.
